Wiboud Burkens (1966) – keyboards, producer, songwriter

For more then 20 years active in the music bizz in a wide variety of music genres, from soul/funk tot pop, crossover/jazz, world and filmmusic. He arranged and composed for large ensembles such as Kindred Spirits Ensemble, Motion Unlimited and produced and/or played on over 100 cd’s from jazz to hiphop, soul, world & pop.

Together with his friend and bassplayer Manuel Hugas he  is the co-founder and songwriter/producer of soul group Liquid Spirits. They produced 2 worldwide highly good reviewed albums, a third is in the make.

In the recent years Wiboud produced 2 albums for Jungle by Night (2012, 2014), Rob van Wouw ‘Neon’ (released on Bugge Wesseltoft’s Jazzland – 2013) , Lilian Vieira (2014, 2015, 2017) as well as Re:freshed Orchestra. In 2015 Wibod composed the ‘new national anthem’ of Surinam with the hit “Paramaribo-o-o” for Kenny B. & Jeffrey Spalburg.

He has the pleasure to work with Leon Ware, produced and wrote for Lalah Hathaway. He is MD for the projectgroup ‘Daughters of Soul’, performing with artists such as Chaka Kahn, Denise Williams, Lalah Hathaway and Sandra st. Victor.

As keyboard player Wiboud is frequently asked in the studio for his contribution on the Rhodes and other vintage keys for artists such as James Zoo, Bo Saris, Kane, Benjamin Herman, Alain Clark, Tom Trago, and Anouk.
